Description:

The Aldolase test measures the level of aldolase enzyme in your blood. This enzyme helps break down sugars to produce energy and is mostly found in muscles

To check for muscle damage or disease, such as:

  • Muscular dystrophy
  • Inflammatory muscle conditions (like polymyositis or dermatomyositis)
  • Sometimes used to monitor liver or heart issues (though other tests are more common now)

Sample Type:    2 ml. (1 ml. Minimum) Serum from 1 SST (With gel)/plasma from 1 Sodium Heparin (Green Top) /EDTA (Lavender top) tube.
Instruction:      Overnight fasting is preferred. Hemolyzed sample is not acceptable
